1. Log into your Canapy account
2. Go to Menu > Settings > Application Settings
3. Under “CONNECTIONS” click on the Shopify icon. The following list of instructions will come up...
There are 8 steps total, we recommend reading them first so that you are familiar with them. Having a text editor open (Word, Notepad, etc) to copy paste your credentials to in step 8-9 would be helpful.
On your Shopify dashboards, select the "Apps" tab
Once on the apps page, press the "Develop Apps" button
Some users will see an "Allow Custom App Development" button before this step. Look for the "Create an app" button (if this is your first it should look like the screenshot) and press it.
Give the app a name, we recommend using "Canapy" ;)
For the app developer use any of your Shopify staff users.
Things might get a little techy, but don't worry.
In the 'Overview' tab, find the button to 'Configure Admin API Scopes' and select it.
In the Search bar, type "Orders", we only need permission to "read" them select them.
Scroll up to the "Save" button and press it. We only need permissions for Orders and Draft Orders.
Find the "API Credentials" tab, and go to it. Press the "Install app" button.
Careful, Shopify will only let you see your token once, make sure you copy paste it to a safe place just in case. You will need your Access Token, API Key and Secret Key in the next step.
Carefully copy paste your credentials from Shopify into this form (no, this one is not a screenshot)
If you need to change them, or make a typo you can come back to this wizard and input them again.
Please note, if you are using a free account and are already using your one free connection for Esty or Squarespace, you will need to upgrade to a premium account to add another connection.
